COVID-19 Update

We are excited about the possibility of having Drum Camp in June & September 2022. It will be three long hard years since last we gathered and we have missed you all! We hope you are excited as well. We know that this new world we are living in may make drum camp different, so we wanted to lay it all out and update you on what we know at this time. Our situation is still changing, but what we know at this time we will share. We are working closely with Camp White Pine to make sure our time there is as safe as possible!

Please read the information below to understand the plans we are making for the summer & fall to ensure that everyone at camp is healthy and safe.

Some of the information in this Plan is subject to change according to Public Health Guidance.

We will provide more details as the information becomes available.

Vaccinations

We will require that everyone is fully vaccinated and show their proof of vaccination upon arrival. All of the camp staff will be fully vaccinated also. For everyone traveling from outside of Canada please visit the Canada Government Travel to Canada website for the latest entry requirements. There you will also find all updates and details. In addition those returning to their home country need to check what testing requirements may be needed.

Masks & Physical Distancing

We are anticipating that masks will be optional at camp, since masks now protect the wearer..

Sleeping Arrangements

Cabins will be assigned in accordance with who you registered with (your social bubble) and only those people whenever possible. If you are a group of 4-6, it will probably be just the 4-6 of you in your cabin.

Physical Modifications to the Camp

There will be increased ventilation throughout camp. CWP (Camp White Pine) has built and installed screen doors in each cabin. The Dining Hall and other essential indoor areas will have more screens to allow for increased air flow. Hand sanitizer stations will be located in all cabins and activity areas, as well as on dining hall tables and in common buildings around camp. Two additional hand washing stations have been built and located in main camp. Picnic tables and Muskoka chairs will be everywhere! Also there will be 2 large tents, one on the side lawn (right beside the dining hall), used for meals. The other is outside the staff lounge (good for larger group gatherings).

Camp White Pine will be following public health’s regulations about the serving of food.

Large group events will be scheduled outside.

Camp White Pine will be following all Health Canada guidelines in regards to cleaning, disinfecting, signage, food service and any other requirements.

Your health and safety are our biggest priority! We want to make sure everyone who attends is kept safe and remains healthy! The way to achieving this is by working closely with Public Health, abiding by all Government Guidelines and making sure you are informed.

Keep in mind that guidance from Public Health will likely be easier/different by next year.

Thank you, stay safe and be well.
